My kids have a book about coral reefs. When they were little I read it well over a hundred times. 

Here’s what I learned:

Dreams are a big part of the story in, Lost: The Other Realm. The first book in what will be a three part series. Cassie’s adventure all starts with a dream of another world that allows a Faery King to find her. The concept for the book took shape over many years.

It started in my late teens when I was part of a dream group

I knew I wanted to turn the story in my head into a novel. But as a mom with a full time job that seemed impossible (and super overwhelming).

But I had this theory- even one sentence a day would be a step closer to my goal. Sometimes that’s literally all I was l able to write. It took me years, but I did eventually publish my first book last year! Lost: The Other Realm (Book 1).

First let me start with a spoiler- Zilphia Blue is a pen name. As I was considering pen names I kept coming back to a character I created for a short story: Zilphia Blue Space Artist.
